Industrial AI Vision Platform
Optimus is Byte Motion's industrial AI vision platform. It combines cameras, AI models, computer vision software, robot and PLC communication, dashboards, and integration services for production automation.
Production-ready computer vision for real factories
Optimus can be used for object detection, tracking, counting, quality inspection, robot guidance, conveyor monitoring, and integration with PLCs, robots, dashboards, and existing production systems. It is delivered as a pre-study, production-cell package, or enterprise deployment.
Byte Motion provides the industrial PC that Optimus runs on. Depending on performance and environment requirements, it is configured with NVIDIA-related hardware such as Jetson modules, RTX GPU workstations, or industrial NVIDIA GPU hardware.
Optimus can usually tackle most industrial vision challenges with its existing modules. When a production line needs custom development, Byte Motion defines that work after the pre-study and includes it in the production offer.
What Optimus can do
- AI object detection
- Segmentation
- Tracking
- Stereo vision / 3D positioning where needed

Use cases
- Conveyor object detection and counting — Optimus detects, tracks, and counts objects on moving conveyors in real time.
- Robot pick-and-place guidance — Optimus generates robot pick positions from AI detection, segmentation, tracking, or 3D localization.
- Bin picking support — Optimus can support object segmentation, candidate selection, and pick pose generation for suitable bin picking tasks.
- Quality inspection — Optimus combines AI models and classical vision checks for defect detection, classification, and reject signals.
- Object classification — Optimus classifies objects using custom AI models trained on customer-specific image data.
- Production monitoring — Optimus turns camera events into production metrics, alarms, and historical analytics.
- Camera health monitoring — Optimus includes camera monitoring and watchdog logic to detect common camera and pipeline issues.
- Dashboard and analytics — Optimus can publish counts, classifications, alarms, images, and KPIs to dashboards and databases.
- Custom industrial AI projects — Byte Motion adapts Optimus with custom data collection, model training, pipeline logic, and integration services.
Is Optimus a fixed camera product?
No. Optimus is camera agnostic. Byte Motion selects the camera, lens, lighting, and compute setup based on the application.
Who provides the industrial PC for Optimus?
Byte Motion normally provides the industrial PC that Optimus runs on. It is configured with NVIDIA-related hardware such as Jetson modules, RTX GPU systems, or industrial NVIDIA GPU hardware depending on performance, camera, and integration requirements.
Do you integrate with PLCs and robots?
Yes. Optimus is designed for integration with PLCs, robots, ROS 2, Node-RED, APIs, databases, dashboards, and production systems.
Why start with a pre-study?
The pre-study tests the technical assumptions with real images and a limited prototype before the customer commits to a larger production deployment.
