Do I need to replace my existing equipment to use AI automation?
No. Optimus is designed to integrate with your existing cameras, robots, PLCs, sensors, and conveyors. We design around what you already have, which protects your investment and avoids the disruption of a full rip-and-replace project.
How long does a typical AI automation project take?
Most projects follow a 6-step process: Exploration, Pre-Study, Kick-Off, Development, Delivery, and Support. A pre-study typically takes a few weeks. A full Production Cell deployment varies by complexity — from a few months for straightforward vision systems to longer for multi-robot or high-integration projects.

How much does an AI automation project cost?
Most projects start with a pre-study at approximately €10,000. A Production Cell installation is typically €10,000–€30,000 for software and integration, depending on scope and hardware. After 15 months, annual license renewal is €500–€1,500/month. Enterprise projects with broader scope start from €100,000. Robots, conveyors, and mechanical modifications are quoted separately unless included in scope.
Do you offer ongoing support after deployment?
Yes. Production Cell deployments include remote support. Enterprise deployments can include a customized SLA with monitoring, technical support, and regular backups. With remote access and production integration, we can often identify the source of a reported issue within minutes — including external causes such as sensors, PLC signals, networks, lighting, or robot state.
What is the Optimus platform and how is it licensed?
Optimus is Byte Motion's industrial AI vision platform. It combines camera-agnostic vision, AI models, ROS2, PLC and robot communication, Node-RED orchestration, dashboards, and analytics. Byte Motion provides the industrial PC it runs on. Licensing starts after the initial 15-month Production Cell warranty period at €500–€1,500/month, depending on deployment scale and support needs.
